A massive night for Belter on Saturday 21st July, as we officially launch our debut single “TV Junkie” at the iconic Camden Barfly together with The Deadly Tremors, The Conservatives & The Do Or Dies. This show is a “Hot Vox” sponsored evening & these promoters certainly know how to put class acts together, so please come along and set “TV Junkie” off on its maiden voyage with a sip of champers (or cheap lager if you prefer). Tickets for this event are a mere £6 in advance & £8 on the night. Belter have been advised by Hot Vox that their previous 3 promotions at this venue have sold out so, if you want to come, visit (http://www.barflyclub.com/camden/whatson/event/34313.aspx) & grab your ticket.
Barely a week after we return from Amsterdam, we venture up the M11 to play our first gigs in Cambridge. This beautiful city shouldn’t be too much of a culture shock for us as it shares many similarities to the Dutch port, such a magnificent architecture, a historical heritage and too many bloody pushbikes.
Friday 29th June sees the start of the Cambridge Buzz Festival which takes place at one of the few dedicated music pub venues left in the city, the overwhelmingly friendly Corner House on Newmarket Road. Five bands will be there, ready and waiting to get the weekend off to a flyer with Belter the last band on at around 23.00hrs. Whats more (if you needed it), there will be a Beer Festival on at the same time but the real killer is…….. IT’S FREE!
The next day (30th), we get on our bikes to go to Burwell (slightly north east of Cambridge) to play an all day festival run by the Cambridge BikeBreakers. This is an invitation only event but, if you fancy getting your Chopper out (stop sniggering), I am sure that they would be most delighted to see you.
Most of Belter still haven’t dried out following our trip to France. However, we will be praying to various deities that the weather Gods will be smiling on us when we cross the channel again on June 22nd to revisit Amsterdam and play at De Nieuwe Anita (see “Gigs” page for more details). This will be followed by a secret gig (so secret in fact, even WE don’t know where it is yet) the next day.
Let’s just hope we all remember our passports this time……
Video now available from our recent “Unplugged” session at Phoenix FM. Armed with only an acoustic guitar, early morning vocal cords and stuff we could hit, Belter belt out “TV Junkie” to a bemused Alan Johnson on his “Feelgood Saturday” prog. following that, the band try to explain what the song is about…….
Phoenix FM/ Creative Sessions 2012.
